These horses wouldn't be spooked by flowers being thrown at them, or bottles or tin can or stones or etc...
But they would have needed more than a week to be trained to walk slowly pulling the gun carriage. Seems the decision to hold this ceremonial funeral was a surprise to more than just the general public...

I'm surprised, surely there must be horses around who are used to pulling carriages at slow speed, they seemed to manage ok with Diana's funeral if I recall correctly.

They're probably a different group of horses from the ones at Diana's funeral and may be at different levels of experience.

I would have thought so, Diana's funeral was nearly 16 years ago now.

I don't even know where the horses came from though.

I think the ones at Diana's funeral were from a unit called the King's Troop Horse Artillery. I assume these horses are perhaps also from this unit but I'm not sure. I can't recall if that was mentioned. Dunno

Just had a quick look on the internet and yeah, this is where they came from according to several sources.

She was really loved in this country imo...and it's true to say that she modernized the monarchy because she was more down to earth ..great that William went one step further and married a commoner!

That explains why the BBC coverage of the cortege went to a different scene as it approached Ludgate Circus, they did not want the World to see/hear the protests.

Diana a dirty slut? No ....A 19 year old girl that was just brought in to be a breeding machine but she showed the stuffy monarchy for what it was!

How was that then Dunno ...There was James Hewitt and then a couple of affairs with a doctor and then Al Fayed and that was after her marriage had ended and Charles was with the horse!
